Fast forward to the application of the
brass raised letters. The arms are attached, the ring is level and I was
able to find WWII surplus steel screws with which I could attach the letters.
I thought it would be important for the screws to disappear inside the ring.
Steel screws are perfect, but the new ones are all plated with chrome or
zinc. I also thought that phillips head screws would be inappropriate on
the piece so the old screws were the right ones to use.
