A few things forged in the shop.
Places to put things on hooks:

As you can see, I like hooks. They're useful and simple and can make a guy feel like he got something done that day.

Hooks also provide an unlimited range of expression. What the piece becomes depends on so many variables that anything is possible.
Materials, design elements, size, strength and finish can yield a hugely diverse number of results.
This one is basically a large version of a small key rack. Same style and design, but using copper rivets instead of steel. A middleweight rack.
Things that can hang from hooks:
One of my first items made for friends are these house keys. The old skeleton style keys in their front door had long been lost, replaced with stamped sheet metal versions. These new keys were forged then hand-filed. That they actually work was a pleasant surprise to all of us!
Salad serving pieces. Very simple first attempts, but useful. Just have to be dried well after washing.

Got candles? Try a snuffer. Copper forged and captured in a steel ring that becomes a handle. This one has a heart shaped end on the twisted handle. I've done others with a copper and steel twisted handle, or incised designs. Another "sky's the limit" design experience.

Copper handled letter openers.
Rough forged low candle holders of steel and hammered copper.

This is a nice rack. Could be a spice rack. Liked it so much I made it ten times twice rack.

Sterling Leaf

This is a really simple Repousse Sterling silver Maple leaf. It's about 2.5 inches across and made to be a christmas tree ornament. I also made an Aspen leaf and an Oak leaf with acorns.

Puppy Cutter

This is a half-finished Puppy Cutter... cookie cutter that is. It's made from .020 thick copper sheet. First thing to do is crease it in a hand brake, then start bending it with small ring nosed pliers. It's about an inch tall and the double layer is aout 3/8ths of an inch. This came out nicely, though I forgot to photograph it after it was done.

Dog Bone Frame

The dog bone frame. Repousse copper bone on a 1/8th thick steel frame hand cut from a sheet. It's made for 4x6 pictures that are held in place by magnets on the back of the frame.

TRShooks

This is another hook rack designed for a couple with a logo.

I know. One of my twists is wrong. Thanks for reminding me.

More to come...
